Oath (誓い)
To build true self-confidence (自信)
through knowledge of the mind (정신, 精神),
honesty in the heart (마음, 心), and strength in the body (몸, 体).
Oath (誓い)
To develop love (사랑, 愛) and trust (믿음, 信仰) with others,
to respect superiors (존경, 尊敬), and to contribute to a more peaceful world (평화, 平和).
Oath (誓い)
Never to fight for selfish goals but to defend life (생명, 生命),
justice (정의, 正義), and peace (평화, 平和).

BLACK BELT OATH
Oath (誓い)
By my honor (명예, 名誉), I pledge to fulfill to the best of my ability (능력, 能力) the following principles:
* I will have respect (존경, 尊敬) and admiration (존경, 尊敬) for my Master (스승, 師).
* With dedication (헌신, 献身) and patience (인내, 忍耐), I will impart knowledge (지식, 知識) to my disciples (제자, 弟子).
* I will be tireless (지치지 않음, 不屈) in the pursuit of self-improvement (수련, 修練) and the dissemination (전파, 伝播) of this art (예술, 技術).
* I will always remain faithful (충실, 忠実) to the principles (원칙, 原則) of integrity (청렴, 清廉) and humanity (인류, 人類).
*And if I fail to uphold these, may I accept the due punishments (처벌, 罰).
